USDOC asks FMCC to Host International Road Construction Delegation

Fort Myer Construction, a leading road construction company in the Metro DC area, was approached by the US Department of Commerce to host a group of Eurasian road construction delegates participating in a Special American Business Internship Training (SABIT) program. For the second time, our local company provided the international group expertise in industry trends, construction equipment, quality control, project cost estimating, and other road construction topics.

The purpose of the  SABIT Road Construction program is to build partnerships and provide technical assistance by training Eurasian business leaders in U.S. business practices, according to the US Department of Commerce. A program organizer from the Department of Commerce said Fort Myer Construction was hand-selected for this opportunity because we came as a highly-recommended contractor recognized for our company size and scope of work in and around the nation’s capital. The previous group also rated our presentation as among the best.

Traveling with simultaneous interpreters, the visiting executives experienced a presentation from key members of the Fort Myer team. A site tour followed, taking a detailed look at the Beach Drive Reconstruction project for Federal Highway Administration.

The delegates, chosen by the US Department of Commerce from countries like Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and others, are industry professionals seeking information on trends, innovations, and best practices from road construction specialists like Fort Myer Construction. Fort Myer has been a formidable participant in local development and construction for 45 years and was honored to host this delegation and share the cornerstones of our success on an international level.
